Yintai Centre
The Yintai Centre was designed to house the Headquarters of leading financial institutions within the Business District at the core of Chengdu Financial City in China. The futuristic composition of asymmetric towers and blocks, creates an island of interlinking volumes, putting Chengdu on the map with a dynamic skyline to rival Canary Wharf.
In response to the brief conveyed by client Yintai Holdings, the modernistic scheme was designed to focus on spatial layout, a mix of building structures and green space, as opposed to a generic high-density development. The emphasis on creativity and connectivity above and underground, encourages freedom of movement with tunnels and overpasses to connect the buildings vertically.
The 6 million sq.ft. mixed-use scheme cleverly incorporates a large expanse of landscaping to the south of the development, by wrapping the gardens up and over a 5-storey podium, concealing a 1 million sq.ft. shopping centre and prime retail destination. Above the podium, a trio of towers 50 storeys in height, envelop a 5-Star Hotel, penthouses, serviced apartments and offices. With a panoramic view of the landscape, the luxury complex is the centrepiece of the new Tianfu City.
The scheme was designed by Vincent & Brown team members, whilst at a former practice and lead to several commissions with the client.
