Bootham House

Bootham House is a boutique residential development sitting on the southern side of sought after Bootham, within the York Central conservation area.

The beautiful Red brick, Georgian building has been thoroughly renovated to provide Twelve luxury apartments, a Mews House and a 2bed cottage. Bootham House stands proudly on the corner of Bootham and Marygate from where it delivers a superb view of York Minster.

Vincent & Partners secured the change of use from office to residential in 2018. Followed by planning consents in 2019 for the refurbishment & reconfiguration of the main building and conversion of attic space to residential accommodation, giving each property a bespoke individual interior with ceiling heights in keeping with the history of the building.

The existing Georgian staircase has been beautifully restored giving a feeling of grandeur alongside the modern convenience of a new lift.

Apartment 1 boasts the addition of a stunning orangery making it a truly unique apartment.

The outside space, previously a car park has been reconfigured to allow a private, communal garden whilst retaining 10 car parking spaces, a rarity in central York.

Vincent & Partners’ technical director, Mark Stothard and architectural assistant Tom Barnes, kept a close eye during the construction stages and the results are impressive.
