Planning Success for The Chantry

Vincent & Brown have secured planning permission and listed building consent for an extension to Grade II listed home, The Chantry, York.

The extension will provide a new light and airy living space opening onto a generous garden.

Architect Rachel Stancliffe had the task of navigating a complex mix of constraints due to the dwelling’s listed status, the high archaeological interest of the site, and location within both Bishopthorpe conservation area and York green belt, close collaboration with heritage consultant 1Voyage, landscape architects Lan pro and City of York Council was key to the successful outcome achieved.

Our clients are keen to move their project forward and have instructed us to proceed with Stage 4 drawings.
